Hotelspeaker
Full redesign and migration to a modern stack.

The client
Hotelspeaker is the vendor of a platform for the hospitality industry: hotels entrust the replies to their online reviews to a team of writers. The company already had its customers and its team when the founder of ALEXECOM was hired, together with ReunIT, to modernise the existing platform.
The problem
The platform was built on ageing technology, in PHP, and the interface, for customers and writers alike, no longer matched the quality of the service.
The goal
Migrate the whole platform to a modern stack without interrupting the service to existing hotels, and start again from a base that allows fast, safe evolution.
Modernise the interface of both applications, keep only what genuinely serves the users, and open key features to far more users than a handful by rethinking their UI and UX.
The solution
An API and the whole backend in .NET, and two Next.js applications: one for hotel customers, and a back office for writers and administrators.
We spent time with each person to understand their work, see how to make the transition as smooth as possible so nobody got lost in a new application, and identify the features relevant to their role in order to make their job easier.
A long engagement, the equivalent of two and a half years, full stack: managing the Azure hosting and the servers, building a data migration tool, and a human challenge, since the migration had to be gradual to support users accustomed to the same system for close to ten years.
